Excellent opportunities for family medicine physicians to join
clinical faculty team with the University of Iowa. The University
of Iowa, Department of Family Medicine provides expert patient care
and support to children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. We offer
a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including
maternity care, in a safe, comfortable, and confidential setting.
Our faculty received training at a variety of medical schools and
postgraduate programs, bringing a rich diversity to our department.
All the physicians are board certified, and the faculty includes
individuals who have extensive experience, as practitioners and
educators.The UI Department of Family Medicine is seeking
physicians for teaching and non-teaching opportunities to build
their career within a thriving academic healthcare system. This is
an excellent opportunity to practice a full range of primary
care/family medicine, including outpatient, inpatient, and
maternity care (operative or non-operative). Additionally,
candidates are encouraged to participate in departmental
scholarships and can explore both intramurally and extramurally
funded research activities.Faculty will practice in one of our
clinics in and around Iowa City. We have immediate openings at the
following clinics:
- UI Health Care Iowa City, First Avenue
- UI Health Care Coralville, Oakdale Drive
- UI Health Care Iowa River Landing East

- Applicants must have a medical school degree, (MD/DO or
equivalent) and show successful completion of an approved residency
program in family medicine and fellowship (if applicable).
- The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to
obtain, or already hold, an active Iowa medical license.
- Candidates must be board-certified in family medicine (or
non-U.S. board equivalent) or be in the certification process
(pending completion of residency or fellowship).Desired

- Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and
respectful workplace environment.Academic faculty responsibilities
may include:
- Participating in team-based care approach.
- Serving as a member of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating
for effective patient outcomes.
- Active participation in the academic activities of the
Department of Family Medicine and the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver
College of Medicine.
- Supervising students, residents, and/or fellows, (where
applicable).
- Providing developmental feedback to those under supervision,
verbally and in writing.
- Preparing educational materials and, -leading, and/or attending
academic lectures and professional development events.
- Research activities, although participation is not required for
continued employment or promotion.Successful candidates will be

research misconduct investigation including but not limited to
